Chocolate Spider Brownie Doughnuts

Serves: Makes Eighteen | Prep: 15 min | Cook: 15 min

Ingredients:

Spider Brownie Doughnuts:
6 oz dark chocolate, roughly chopped
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
4 eggs
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder

Chocolate Topping:
6 oz milk chocolate, roughly chopped
1/4 cup double/heavy cream
6 oz white chocolate, roughly chopped

Directions:
Preheat oven 350F/180C. Grease a doughnut tray.

In a double boiler (a bowl that sits sturdy on a saucepan with water in it. However, make sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water in the pan) melt dark chocolate and butter together over medium low heat. Stir, until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.

In a mixer with a whisk attachment add eggs and sugar together for 3-5 minutes, until mixture doubles in volume. Lower speed and pour in cooled chocolate. Turn off mixer. Sift and fold in flour and cocoa powder. Pour mixture into greased doughnut molds, fill molds. Bake for 12-16 minutes, until cooked. Remove from mold and let cool completely on a wire rack.

Once cooled, heat milk chocolate and heavy cream over low heat. Stir and mix, until smooth. Dip the bottom of each doughnut into the melted milk chocolate mixture.

In another double boiler add white chocolate, stir, until melted. Pour white chocolate into a piping bag. Drizzle three rings of white chocolate on the doughnuts, working from the inside to the outside and following the shape of the doughnuts. While the white chocolate is still wet, use a skewer to carefully drag the inner circle out to make the points of the spider web. Let the chocolate to set fully before serving.
