Storing, Cleaning and Freezing Mushrooms
Tips On Storing and Cleaning Mushrooms:
Storing Mushrooms:
The best and easiest method for me is to remove any plastic off the mushrooms. Wipe the mushrooms clean with a paper towel. Place a paper towel on to the bottom of a dish and place the mushroom on top. Store the mushrooms in the vegetable drawer in the refridgerator. The mushrooms should stay fresh for up to 10 days.
Cleaning Mushrooms:
Wipe clean with a paper towel. However, if really dirty, run mushrooms under cold water to clean. Just make sure the mushrooms are completely dry before storing or using.
Freezing Mushrooms:
Saute mushrooms in oil, let cool, then place into freezer bags. Great to use in soups, sauces and pasta dishes.
