Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Serves: Twelve Bars | Prep: 10 min | Cook: 20 min

Ingredients:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars:
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
3 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
2 oz milk chocolate, roughly chopped

Directions:
Preheat oven 350F/180C. Spray grease a 10X15-inch baking tray.

In a bowl stir flour, soda, and salt together.

In a mixer with a paddle attachment cream butter and sugars together. Add vanilla and eggs. Turn mixer to low. Add dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Add chocolate chips and mix for 30 seconds more. Transfer to the prepared baking tray. With slightly floured hands push dough flat and even into the tray. Bake, 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and the middle has set. A toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.

Meanwhile, melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Stirring, until smooth. Place in a piping bag or drizzle directly on top of the baked bars. Cut into bars and enjoy.
