Fresh Italian Style Breadcrumbs, Dried Italain Style Breadcrumbs

Fresh Italian Style Breadcrumbs:
2 cups, 6 slices stale white bread, cubed
2 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:
Place bread into a food processor, process until fine crumbs. Add spices and stir, until combined.

Dried Italian Style Breadcrumbs:
4 cups, 12 slices stale white bread, cubed
2 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:
Preheat oven 250F/125C.

Place bread into a food processor, process until fine crumbs. Lay out flat on to a baking tray. Bake, 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden. Let cool. Add spices and stir, until combined.

NOTES:
1 cup of fresh breadcrumbs= ½ cup dried breadcrumbs.

Fresh breadcrumbs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for one week.

Dried breadcrumbs can be store in an airtight container at room temperature for one week, in the refrigerator for one month or in the freezer for six months.

Both recipes can be made in bulk and used as needed.
