Beer Butter Bread with Honey Butter
Serves: Makes one loaf | Prep: 10 min | Cook: 45 min
Ingredients:
Beer Butter Bread:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
12 oz lager beer
1/4 cup honey
4 oz butter, 2 oz melted, 2 oz thinly sliced
Honey Butter:
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1 Tbsp honey
Directions:
Preheat oven 350F/180C.
In a large bowl add flour, baking powder and salt. Pour in the beer and honey, mix just until combined with a wooden spoon.
Pour the melted butter into the bottom of a loaf tin. Brush butter up the sides of the loaf tin. Spoon the batter into the tin and smooth out. Evenly place the sliced butter on top of the batter. Place the loaf tin onto a baking tray. Bake, 45-60 minutes, until the top is golden brown, and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Make the butter by mixing butter and honey together for 5 minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed.
*Bread can be frozen for up to six months.
