Brown Sugar Turnip, Carrot Mashed

Ingredients:
Brown Sugar Turnip, Carrot Mash:
2 lbs carrots, peeled and chopped
1 lb turnip, peeled and chopped
4 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp light brown sugar
2 1/2 tsp salt, divided
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions:
Place carrots and turnips into a large saucepan, pour cold water on top, about 1-inch above the vegetables. Add 2 tsp salt and bring to the boil. Boil, 40-45 minutes, until tender.
Drain and place back into the pot with butter, brown sugar, remaining 1/2 tsp salt, and pepper. Add butter, milk. Mash, until smooth.
