Baked Strawberry Cheese Croissant French Toast

Serves: Eight | Prep: 15 min, plus 3 hrs | Cook: 40 min

Ingredients:

Baked Strawberry Cheese Croissant French Toast:
8 croissants, cut into chunks
1 1/2 cup milk
1 cup heavy/double cream
6 eggs
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 Tbsp orange liqueur
8oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup strawberry jam
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped

Directions:
Butter grease a 9X13-inch casserole dish.

Arrange half of the croissant pieces on the bottom of the prepared dish.

Whisk milk, cream, eggs, sugar, and orange liqueur together.

In another bowl whip cream cheese and jam together.

Pour half of the milk mixture on top of the croissant pieces. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over. Top with 1 cup of the fresh strawberries. Arrange the remaining croissants on top, pour over the remaining milk mixture, spread with the remaining cream cheese mixture and top with the remaining fresh strawberries. Press lightly to absorb. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, however, over night works best.

Preheat oven 375F/190C.

Remove plastic wrap. Bake, 40-45 minutes, until golden. Let rest, 10 minutes, before serving.
